How do we build resilience in frontline communities most affected by the environmental crisis?

This is the question Basilica Bio aims to answer. We’re an education minded, community oriented nonprofit at the intersection of biology and social justice. We promote local food systems, de-pollution, and overall community health. In doing so, we make the world a more forward-thinking and equitable place.

We take action.

Gardening Under the Microscope Initiative

We’re promoting local food systems, re-introducing native plants to polluted areas, and teaching community members farming and gardening techniques.

Community Classroom Initiative

We’re connecting teachers and students to curricula that highlights diverse voices and has been overlooked by traditional education.

We learn.

Basilica Bio started with a few graduates from the University of Washington, Seattle. We pride ourselves on education rooted in curiosity and geared towards application. We strive for firsthand understanding of the problems frontline communities face to implement collaborative, local solutions.

We work together.
